"Kutch nahi dekha toh kuch nahi dekha"
Mr. Bachchan while promoting Gujarat tourism said " Kutch nahi dekha toh kuch nahi dekha". It made me wonder how can a desert be so unique and special. This January I got a chance to go out and forget the pandemic wala suffer and start Hindi wala safar(journey). I visited "THE GREAT RANN OF KUTCH". 😍
The first question was how is the white desert formed? Many years back due to earthquakes the land became a bit slopy. During high tides, water from the Arabian sea covers the desert and it not able to return back to the sea due to the slope. So, the water eventually evaporates leaving behind the salt. Hence, a white layer of salt is formed. These salt crystals shine like a diamond. The view is breathtaking during the full moon night.🤩 I know some of us must be wondering is the salt edible? No, it's not due to presence of chemicals. Making this salt edible is almost 10times more costly.😲 So the chemicals are extracted and used to make some medicines and pesticides.
The RANN UTSAV is celebrated here from November to February. The people here celebrate the formation of fresh layer of salt every year. 🥳 It has become a major tourist spot and offered livelihood to the locals. It is the best time to visit Kutch. It's a bit hot during the day and a bit chilly during the night. Handicraft fairs are organised for tourists to visit, appreciate the work and but stuffs that are locally made here.(my mom and I did buy a lot of things from there😍🤭😂) Also, Don't miss out on the puppet show.
If you get a chance to stay at the tent city you'll experience the culture here. Various events are organised depicting their culture. Also, you can visit a village like set up named "Albelu Gamdu". It gives a glimpse of the lives of the people who live here in villages. 🥰
Gujarat overall is a heaven for foodies.🤤 The food here is so delicious. Although some may find it a bit too oily (at some places) but taste is so good. I never in my life have had such a delicious food. Also, what I observed it is much more peaceful and safer than any city. I am truly in love with this place. I wish I didn't have to return. 😩
